“The judge identified nine aspects of An Inconvenient Truth, nine core errors, where Al Gore either misstated the IPCC or prejudicially exaggerated what they found.” John Day is the lawyer for a British parent who sued the British Department

Climate chiefUnited Nations climate chief Yvo de Boer, who oversaw troubled climate talks in Copenhagen last year, is resigning three months early. It's sparked a flurry amongst the climate community over who will replace de Boer for the upcoming Mexico vacation, I mean summit.

Personally, I think that a skeptic should be the next Climate Chief. It's obvious from sheer number of Climategates that skeptics are the only peers willing to review climate change reports instead, or in Phil Jones case simply delete evidence. To start off the list of candidates you may as well go through some of Not Evil Just Wrong's contributors, like Dr. Patrick Moore, Stephen McIntrye or Ross McKitrick.

Who do you think should be the next climate chief?

Let's make this interesting. List who you think is the best candidate is in the comment section of our blog, along with three qualifications for why they should be new climate chief, and you'll win a free dvd of Not Evil Just Wrong.

Bonus points if you're inventive, make us laugh, or simply get more comment votes than others. We'll announce the winner Friday afternoon.

Let the nominations begin!

New Climate Chief
I think the new climate chief should actually be a partnership of three monkeys, one with his hand over his eyes, one with his hands over his ears, and one with his hands over his mouth (See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil).

New Climate Czar
The obvious replacement for the departing climate chief is, of course, Sean Penn. He can easily sway the most convicted of doubters with his style, fashionable contempt and easy ability to scrupulously ignore facts, no matter HOW obvious the evidence supporting them.

I mean, if a has-been, Irish rock musician like Bob Geldoff, can be a special adviser to the UN for Environmental Preservation, why not a Marginally 'B' list actor from the U.S.?

My nominee: Lord Mockton
Lord Mockton:
- He tells it like it is without regard to "political correctness"
- He's independent and not receiving funding, recognition, or something else that would create a conflict of interests in holding a particular view
- If anything he's biased against the prevailing political view in the UN and thus could counterbalance the biases therein

A brick in a diaper and a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. It would make equal, if not more, sense.
Qualifications: It's a brick...making it at least as qualified as Al Gore.

My Nominee: Dr. Roy Spencer, Ph.D.

Quoting from Dr. Spencer's website (www.drroyspencer.com), "Roy W. Spencer received his Ph.D. in meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981. Before becoming a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2001, he was a Senior Scientist for Climate Studies at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where he and Dr. John Christy received NASA’s Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for their global temperature monitoring work with satellites. Dr. Spencer’s work with NASA continues as the U.S. Science Team leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite. He has provided congressional testimony several times on the subject of global warming.

Dr. Spencer’s research has been entirely supported by U.S. government agencies: NASA, NOAA, and DOE. He has never been asked by any oil company to perform any kind of service. Not even Exxon-Mobil.

Dr. Spencer’s first popular book on global warming, Climate Confusion (Encounter Books), is now available at Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com."

In addition, Dr. Spencer is the official climatologist of Rush Limbaugh's Exellence In Broadcasting network.

Let's put him out there and make him defend his position, then we can be done with this nonsense, once and for all.
