Cathy ZoiAssistant Energy Secretary Cathy Zoi, who was the previous environmental adviser to Clinton, announced plans for much harsher energy efficiency standards for household appliances at the first meeting for the recently reestablished Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB).

This eagerness to control even the most mundane decisions of Americans seams to be an ever-present theme for environmentalists.  When Phelim first came to the US to promote Not Evil Just Wrong he expected to find conservatives in the bedroom, but he was shocked at finding liberals in every other room in the house.

Zoi rattles off numbers about how much these mandates will save Americans, she's guestimating $300 billion over the next 20 yrs fyi, but we've seen the results of when the government takes issue with our light bulbs or toilets.

Zoi is supposed to be protecting consumers, whom she clearly believes are too stupid to stop buying bad products, but it is clear her policies are 100 percent rooted in environmental alarmism.
