Phelim was featured in the New American for his work in Copenhagen. Phelim told them in an interview, "There I was thinking that the environmental movement was full of liberal, tolerant people, until you ask them something that goes off the script, ask them a genuine question."
He went on to go into detail about how he was confronted by an armed UN security guard when attempting to ask Professor Schneider about climategate. Later, there was also an instance when he was pelted with vegetables during a live interview with Neil Cavuto.
