“The judge identified nine aspects of An Inconvenient Truth, nine core errors, where Al Gore either misstated the IPCC or prejudicially exaggerated what they found.” John Day is the lawyer for a British parent who sued the British Department
of Education when they tried to distribute An Inconvenient Truth to schools.

At the "Friends of America" rally in West Virginia on Labor Day, Ann and Phelim sat down with the media crew from Energy Town Hall, which is spearheading a "virtual march on Washington" to fight the push for a "cap and trade" system that would regulate emissions of carbon dioxide.

Here are snippets from the interview, with video below:

  • Ann: Cap-and-trade "will be the biggest tax that has ever happened to a people in the history of the world."
  • Phelim: "The effect [of cap-and-trade in Europe] is that the working man isn't working anymore. ... It's had a disastrous effect. It's just chased jobs ... from Europe to America."
  • Ann:"Al Gore can put solar panels on his life, but ordinary people can't afford that."
  • Phelim: "Fifty percent of electricity in America comes from coal. Eighty percent comes from fossil fuels. So you've got the likes of Al Gore here saying we've got to get rid of fossil fuels within 10 years. Well the lights are going to go out."
  • Ann: "Green technology means a loss of jobs [for America] and a stimulus plan for China."

Phelim also spoke with a reporter from the Charleston Daily Mail in West Virginia. "You come here and you hear more common sense in five minutes than you hear in the whole of Europe. ... We [Europeans] don't know where our electricity comes when you flip on the switch; they do here. And that's something worth knowing and something worth spreading."

The interview starts at the 2:07 mark of this video recapping the day's festivities:
