Al Gore has probably never heard of Eagle River, Wis., but the Northwoods Patriots who call that town of 1,300 people home know all about the former vice president -- and they don't like what his global warming hysteria is doing to America.
That's why the Northwoods Patriots hosted a premiere of Not Evil Just Wrong as part of our cinematic tea party on Oct. 18. The screening at a 130-seat theater was a "huge success."
The Not Evil team asked patriot Kim Simac for a full report, and here is what he said by e-mail:
I got there 15 minutes early from another event and the place was already packed. We turned away 30-40 people. We had some people come from as far as three hours away.
I invited school board member [and] local legislators and had some present. A NPR journalist showed up [and] interviewed some people, and I did an interview with him this morning. I rebooked the theater for next Sunday and another theater 40 miles from here. I also am showing the movie at a big Tea Party in Milwaukee in two weeks.
One of the school board members called me today, and I am working on having a showing with the board in the near future.
The biggest thing that came out of it is this: We made proclamation at the end of the movie to have a Global Warming Symposium here in January. And we already have an in with [Roy] Innis and two nationally recognized scientists. [Editor's note: Innis is national chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality and is featured in the film.]
We want to hear more from all of our premiere hosts. Please send your stories to Danny Glover, our editorial director, so he can post details and photos to the blog. You can reach him by e-mail: email@example.com.
